The International Labour Organisation defines “green jobs” as decent jobs that contribute to preserving and restoring the environment, whether in traditional sectors such as manufacturing or construction, or in new and emerging sectors such as renewable energy and energy efficiency.
The EU is striving to balance economic growth with the need to protect the environment by setting ambitious targets for reducing greenhouse gas emissions, promoting renewable energy and reducing waste. This has generated a wide range of green jobs.
To be truly sustainable, these jobs must offer safe, healthy and decent working conditions and be environmentally friendly.
Newly emerging technologies and work processes associated with these jobs may generate new risks that require new skills profiles to cope with them. The expected rapid growth of the “green economy” may give rise to skills “gaps” that cause inexperienced workers to participate in processes for which they have not received adequate training and information, potentially putting their health and safety at risk.
Andalusia, for many years now, has been a reference in the production of renewable energies. The occurrence of serious accidents during the installation or maintenance work of this type of installations, as is the case of photovoltaic installations on non-trafficable roofs of industrial buildings, give special interest to this conference with regard to occupational health and safety at work.
OBJECTIVES OF THE CONFERENCE:
➢ To address various aspects related to the prevention of occupational risks during the construction, operation and maintenance of the different types of renewable energy installations, by professionals with extensive background and proven experience in these Sectors.
➢ To reinforce and update the training of occupational risk prevention professionals in this very specific sector.
➢ To highlight the real experiences and good practices of relevant companies that operate in this field and face high-risk situations that must be solved on a daily basis.
AIMED AT:
Professionals in Occupational Risk Prevention, Employers, Middle Management, Human Resources Managers of companies, Prevention Delegates, Prevention Services, and other professionals related to labour relations.
