- At a sectoral conference held today in Seville, with the presence of the clean energy sector operating in Andalusia.
21 June 2023 – The president of the Andalusian Renewable Energy Association (CLANER), Alfonso Vargas, today defended the effort and contribution that clean energy companies in Andalusia are making to achieve the objectives set by the Andalusian government in the energy transition and to reach the goals of regional planning.
Alfonso Vargas highlighted the role of the Andalusian business sector during the sectoral conference held at the Andalusian Confederation of Entrepreneurs (CEA), which was opened by the Andalusian Regional Government’s Secretary General for Energy, Manuel Larrasa, and the Secretary General of CLANER, Gemma García-Pelayo.
The president of Andalusian renewables also called for the commitment of all administrations, especially those at local level, in the fight against climate change and the need to collaborate in changing the energy model, as required by national and European guidelines.
In fact, the conference was devoted to a round table to analyse the social impact of renewable energies and the position of the administrations and political groups in this respect. Participants included the chairman of the Industry, Energy and Mines Committee and member of the Andalusian Parliament’s Committee on Development, Territorial Planning and Housing, Juan Antonio Lorenzo, the member of the Industry, Energy and Mines Committee and spokesman for the Andalusian Parliament’s Committee on Development, Territorial Planning and Housing, Antonio Sadaña, and the secretary general of the Association of Renewable Energy Maintenance Companies (AEMER), Alberto Ceña. The secretary general of CLANER, Gemma García-Pelayo, acted as moderator.
There was also space to analyse the emerging role of green hydrogen in the renewable mix, with a round table entitled “Expectations and reality in the development of green H2 projects as a vector for decarbonisation”.
This round table discussion included speeches by the president of the Andalusian Hydrogen Association, Francisco Juan Montalbán, the founding partner of SailH2, Fernando Isorna, and the president of INERCO and professor at the University of Seville, Vicente Cortés. Adrián Correro, head of the Hydrogen Working Group at CLANER and director of the Green Hydrogen Division at Ecointegral, acted as moderator.
Finally, the conference, which was organised with the collaboration of the company Eurowind Energy, was brought to a close by the Secretary General of the CEA, Luis Fernández-Palacios, and by the President of CLANER, Alfonso Vargas.
