- In sectoral conferences held in the Parador Nacional de Cádiz with the presence of the business community and the Administration.
20th June 2024.
The Andalusian Renewable Energy Association (CLANER) has identified as one of the key elements to face the current challenges of clean energy in the region the increase in investment in new electricity transmission networks and the increase in digitisation and the provision of greater resources to streamline administrative procedures that favour the development of projects.
This was explained by the President of CLANER, Alfonso Vargas, who, together with the Andalusian Regional Government’s Minister of Industry, Energy and Mines, Jorge Paradela, and the Mayor of Cadiz, Bruno García, inaugurated the sectoral conferences that will be held today and tomorrow at the Parador Nacional de Cádiz, bringing together the main players in the renewable energy sector from both the business sector and the Administration.
Alfonso Vargas stressed the need to improve both electricity infrastructures and administrative procedures in order to deploy the full renewable potential of Andalusia and increase the share of clean energies in the energy mix.
“Andalusia occupies and must continue to occupy a leading position in Spain and Europe in this third industrial revolution of decarbonisation and renewables, and to do so we have the natural resources and the strength of a business sector that is a pioneer and model throughout the world,” stressed the president of CLANER.
After the opening ceremony, the day continued with a round table discussion on the future of energy in Cadiz with the participation of the president of the Wind Energy Business Association, Rocio Sicre, the head of Navantia’s Shipyard 4.0 in the Bay of Cadiz, Francisco Javier Abad, and the delegate of Naturgy Renewable Development in Andalusia, Jesus Varela. Pedro Mayorga, coordinator of the CLANER Marine Energy Working Group, acted as moderator.
